About College
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) is an Indian medical college in Sikkim. It is a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University. SMIMS was started in 2001, with its first batch of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students joining on 10 October 2001. SMIMS was started as a joint venture between the Sikkim government and the Manipal Group.
Apart from MBBS, the college awards degrees in paramedical courses like BPT, MSC, BSC nursing and DMLT in medical fields. The first batch consisted of 100 students, which came down to 50 in the 4th batch. It has now been recognised by the Medical Council of India. Know more…
