Exam Details

The National Law University, Delhi established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 is premier Law University established in thecapital city of India.

The University invites applications for admission to BA LLB (Hons), LLM and Ph.D Programs for the Academic Year 2023-24

Seats Distribution

LLM: 80

BA LLB (Hons): 80

70 Seats on merit through AILET.

10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)].

Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET.

Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Note: 01  additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

02 additional supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir. 

Entrance Test (AILET) structure

The AILET has 150 Multiple Choice Questions for 150 marks that must be attempted within 1 hour 30 minutes.

The AILET has sections on English, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. 

It will be pen and paper exam,

Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2023.

Negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 (per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted).

Eligibility

BA LLB (Hons):  Five-Year Program:  Pass 10+2  Examination or Equivalent Examination with  at least 50% marks.

The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/ April 2023 can also apply.

LLM: One-Year Program: LLB or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks.

Minimum 50% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities.

The candidates appearing in final year LLB Examination in April/ May, 2023 can also apply.

Ph.D Program: LLM Degree with 55% Marks or its Equivalent.

Minimum 50% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities.

Or

Judge of any State High Court in India with three years’ experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.

Fees

General Category/ Kashmiri Migrants/ Resident of Jammu & Kashmir: Rs. 3,050/- .

SC & ST Category and Persons with Disability Rs. 1,050/-.

No Entrance Examination fee for SC/ ST Below Poverty Line (BPL) only.
